Stein:DBGM Swiss Movement West Germany Lidded Stein

It is also embossed above the lid along the rim with “1/4 ltr”. This lovely West Germany Lidded Stein measures approximately 9″ high (including lid) x 4″ wide (bottom base). The stein has lovely sharp colors and detail, including peach lusterware around top and bottom scalloped base. There is also a bottom border of cherubs and the main picture depicts a man and woman outside with the woman carrying buckets in her hand. There are 2 messages “Macht Nie Lebens Mud”! & “Bier Liebund Lied”! The lid looks to be pewter, but not certain! It is nice and shiny with no tarnishing and there is a pattern within the lid. The lid sits nicely on top; however, if you depress the “thumb holder” portion, it is a little “wobbly”. My research shows that this originally was a musical stein, with a music box being on the bottom; however, if you flip the stein over, you can see that there was one there, but it has been removed. There are no nicks, chips or cracks. This is a great collectible piece in good, used condition.

This lovely beer stein measures approximately 8″ high x 3″ (top) diameter x 4 3/8″ (bottom) diameter and 5 3/4″ wide (widest point from end of handle to end of stein). This stein features a peach lustreware top and bottom trim with relief art (front) of a man at a table sitting on a barrel drinking from a stein and a woman sitting at the table as well with one arm on the table and the other holding what appears to be a loaf of bread. There is a lovely mountain scene in the background with trees on both sides of the man and woman. The back of the side features relief art of houses/castles and trees. The handle is made to look like a twisted tree bark. NOTE: there is 1 chip at the bottom edge of the stein and I have marked the price down accordingly due to this minor flaw. Beer steins and mugs are not only functional but engaging works of art and can become a great collectible and stunning addition to your d?cor. Their appeal is wide reaching due to their craftsmanship and subject matter; and they often appreciate in value. there are no other nicks, chips or cracks, other than the above forementioned. Great piece to add to your collection! In good, used condition.
