The old log bldg pictured was the first schoolhouse built in 1852, Abraham J. Sprunger was teacher…etc…The front on the plate is blue & white in color and features (around the edge) pictures and words of past & present highlights and history of schools and education. The center has the words “Centennial..Berne…Indiana..1852-1952…Um Schritt Gottes… with a picture of a cross with a man and woman standing with the word “Helvetia” under the people. Great piece to add to your collection! There are no nicks, chips or cracks. In good, used condition.
