The tradition of personalized shotglasses was very strong in the military, something like the tradition of regimental or reservisten beer steins. It was an excellent gift, sometimes, a trophy prize. Usually made of silver-silverplated for lower ranks. In many cases, the officer’s clubs ordered personalized silver shotglasses for the officers. It was used for Schnapps-the german version of Vodka. Please note that in the US, the word “Schnapps” is usually used for something different-liquers. Each shotglass measures approximately 1 1/2″ high x 1 1/4″ (top) diameter. They are each marked on the bottom with “EPB”. Great collector’s set and a piece of history! There is some tranishing on each one, but I believe this is due to the age. In good, used condition.

There is a gold “89” to the upper right of the mark.The Platter dates after 1921 & is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing in the finish. The luscious apples?? are framed with leafy branches & lovely flowers in shades of pink & rose with pink and yellow dusting around the rim and a gold trim . There is some wear on the gold edging as would be expected with this age.
